Primaria - Marizaan Verwey

Portfolios: Discipline, Catering, Huisdans, House & Interior.

The Prim is the head of the house. She serves as the link between the university and the HK (House Committee) and thus the rest of the house by attending PK (Prim Committee) meetings. She manages the portfolios of the HK and ensures the general well-being of the HK and house. Discipline consists of ensuring rules and regulations are followed and corrective action is taken where necessary. The house & interior HK ensures the maintenance of the house and decorating thereof.

Vice-Primaria - Kelsey Shungking

Portfolios: Media & Marketing, Safety, Sponsorships.

The Onder-Prim assumes the role of the Prim when she is not available. She is the link between the Prim and the HK and also the support of the Prim. She ensures the general well-being of the HK and is the safety HK of the house. The safety HK requires a level one first aid course and is responsible for the safety of first years during welcoming as well as the house throughout the year. She meets with other Vice-Prims during the year to discuss safety issues in Stellenbosch. The marketing HK consists of advertising all Silene events for the year and promoting Silene as a house by managing the social media pages and website. 

Head Mentor - Carmen Roets

Portfolios: Academics, Silene Celebrations.

Head mentor recruits and overseas the mentors for the year and assists them in necessary training. She plans the mentor program and ensures that mentee health is taken into consideration by incorporating the BeWell program into mentor sessions. The academics HK sees that the overall academics of the house strive and provides necessary assistance and resources to aid this. Our new portfolio, silene celebrations, focuses on creating silene spirit and upholding our house's sisterhood bond through the help of the Gees Committee.

Kristan Sharpley

Portfolios: Treasurer, Leadership Development, Clusters.

The treasurer is in charge of all Silene's finances. This includes the year budget and payments. Our leadership development focuses on expanding the capacity of individuals to perform in leadership roles within internal and external organizations. The cluster initiative involves the integration of university residences with PSO's. It aims to build relationships with students from different contexts and create open spaces to aid an improved academic and social environment.

Michelle Franken

Portfolios: Secretary, Clothing, MAD2 Admin.

The secretary communicates any info to respective HK's and to the rest of the house via House Mail which is a monthly newsletter sent via email to update members on upcoming events and Silene info. She also responds to any queries and questions from any member and organizes weekly HK meetings. The clothing portfolio consists of designing and ordering all clothing for Silene. This includes leadership, first year, sport and culture clothing needed throughout the year. A Silene clothing line will also be launched early 2017! 

Danai Nyagani

Portfolios: Critical Engagement, Social impact, Green Sustainability.

Our aim for our social impact is to encourage Silene women to become active citizens by participating in social initiatives and contributing to the greater community of Stellenbosch. Critical engagement in our PSO provides the opportunity for Silene women to learn and unlearn concepts. Green Sustainability aims to combat climate change by prioritizing environmental education and implementing goal 15 of the SDG.

Esmari Esterhuisen

Portfolios: Social, Sport, Vensters, Huisfonsdans, Committees

The social HK is responsible for arranging events and socials for Silene. The sport HK organizes the houses sport teams and practices. We have a netball, hockey and soccer team of which we would like to enter the netball and hockey teams into the Winter League. The vensters portfolio consists of organizing the dance and play for the performance. She also recruits the actors through auditions and organizes the stage. 

Anje de Klerk

Portfolios: Culture, Welcoming, First Years.

The culture HK updates house members on all cultural events and organizes all groups and practices for cultural competitions. The first year's portfolio consists of organizing first year socials throughout the

year and recruiting a first years committee and overseeing them. The welcoming leader constructs, organizes and carries out the welcoming program for the first years in January.

Symbolism of Victoria's commitment to strengthening ties among its members so that each residence and PSO individually and as a collective, is enriched and strengthened through its involvement.
