"Primordia Quarere Rerum" - Seek the beginning of things

"in iunctum nostum vires" - in unity , our strength.

Symbolism of Victoria's commitment to strengthening ties among its members so that each residence and PSO individually and as a collective, is enriched and strengthened through its involvement.

What is MAD2?

“MAD2” is an acronym for “Making a decision to make a difference” and is a fundraising project consisting of 2 weeks of fun to raise money for the community. All funds go to Matie Community Service (MCS). This organization uses the money to fund projects for communities in need, in and around Stellenbosch. To achieve these goals of MCS, MAD2 is competition based where male and female residences and PSO’s partake in the activities as MAD2 partners. The first years of each residence or PSO play a vital part in the success of this. Each year there is an overall theme for MAD2 and for 2017 it is “Let's Talk”. Our MAD2 partners for 2017 are Goldfields residence and Aurora PSO. The Sirorafields spinoff is "Speak Out" and our vision this year is to:

- Promote respectful interactions

- Move out of our comfort zones and make real connections

- Promote and empower entrepreneurs

- Impact and uplift the communities around us.

Welcoming 2017

The welcoming period is one of the biggest events at Stellenbosch University. Once you have been accepted to Stellenbosch University, we will have the pleasure in welcoming you to our PSO. We have many activities in store for you during welcoming that will better prepare and enrich your student life here at Stellenbosch, During this week we will be helping you to prepare for your academics, introduce you to the culture, community and history of Stellenbosc, and most of all, help you focus on what is important for a balanced student life. By the end of this we hope for our ladies to find a home away from home within Silene.
